Alma's Story
A long time ago, Alma the Younger was struggling with the pain of eternal torment and was in the darkest moments of his life. He remembered all the wicked acts he had committed and felt the torture his actions caused. His pain was so great that he wished to be banished from existence. He was "racked" with this pain for over three days and three nights before he finally remembered something: Alma recalled his father preaching to the people about Jesus Christ, the Son of God who would atone for the sins of all the world. Because of the teachings he had heard, he reached out to Christ and cried for mercy from all the pain and torment he felt.
After praying to his God, Alma’s burden was lifted. Instead of the horrible pain, he could feel the miraculous joy from our Savior, Jesus Christ, and His atoning grace. All the pain he had experienced was replaced with joy just as great—if not greater—than the sorrow he had endured. Because of this joy, Alma dedicated himself to missionary work. He had a desire to share the amazing love and joy that comes from the gospel with as many others as possible.
Why I Made This Website
I find insights from even the most unexpected places helpful in learning about Christ. That’s why I made this website to share what I am learning with the world and add my voice to the many wiser and more knowledgeable voices of other LDS content creators. The other reason I created this site is to document my spiritual journey and create a place I can always return to for inspiration.
To read more details of the story of Alma, the scripture references are Mosiah 27 and Alma 36.
